A previous post took a look at paper wrapped pencils, specifically the ones known as grease markers or china markers.
Did you know (and are you surprised?) that the Mitsubishi Pencil Company of Japan makes a grease pencil – and in a dozen, vibrant colours.
The “Dermatograph” No. 7600, marked “For Glass, Metal, Plastics”, seems to be an upscale version of the grease pencil – nice colours and finish, no extruding staple, and a finished cap!
The possibilities beckon.
Did I know? – No
Am I surprised? – I really should have learned by now that there is just no end to the variety of stationery available in Japan, and yet they still manage to surprise me.
I have seen them in the printed Mitsubishi/uni catalogue but since your photos are more vibrant they are a pleasant suprise!
Nice colors. I’m a bit astonished about the “for Glass, Metal, Plastics”. I would have guessed that it’s made – at least initially – for using on skin; the Greek name “Skin Writer” implies that.
